REGISTRIES
I bet a good number of you thought Ikoyi registry was the only marriage
registry in Lagos. Ok, so maybe you also knew about the Ikeja
registry. Did you know there were 55 others? Well, we bring
you a list of all the 57 marriage registries in Lagos and
very soon we will bring you those in other states too. Marriage
registries are usually located in the local government headquarters
and the few exceptions e.g. Ikoyi registry, have been highlighted.
Requirements
You need 3 passport photographs each of the intending couple
and an official registration fee of N2,000 (Also a fee of
N1,500 for the marriage certificate if the wedding ceremony
will be held at the registry). Apart from the official fee,
you may have to “wash” it for the LG officials.
Remember you need to give 21days notice, enough time for the
statutory notification of marriage to be pasted. Good Luck.
